Business Meal Reimbursement Procedure

To submit a restaurant receipt for a business meal with multiple people, please submit the itemized receipt and a receipt showing the tip amount (if applicable). Tip should not exceed 20% of the subtotal (total excluding taxes). Please also include a description of the reason for the event and a list of attendees (including total #) and reasons for their attendance. If alcohol is included (drinks or dinner only) please note on the itemized receipt which items are alcohol as they will need to be expensed separately.

Business Meals

Business meals, either locally or during travel, will be reimbursed when prior approval has been given by your supervisor or the organizer of an event. Examples include: Visiting guest speakers, job candidates, visitor vendors or professional partners, job candidates, Trusted Colleague program lunches (up to 3 lunches for 3 people). In some cases, such as dinner with a guest speaker or job candidate, alcohol may also be reimbursed.
