Hunt Library

Hunt Library Conference Room

  • Location: First Floor
  • Capacity: 10
  • Features: Work table and seating, whiteboard, flat-screen monitor, HDMI, VGA. Obtain A/V cables and other equipment at the lending desk.
  • How to reserve: 
    • Schedule a new meeting in Outlook
    • In “Location” field, enter “@ HL Ref Conference Room.” This will populate both the location field and the “To” field. 
    • Complete and send meeting as usual.

IDeATe Studio A

  • Location: First Floor
  • Capacity: 70
  • Features: Rolling tables and chairs allow for interchangeable classroom configurations. There is a large screen TV mounted to the wall, and two smaller TVs (on wheels) for A/V connections. There are 8 large white boards on wheels. Studio A holds classes, lectures, and events. When it’s not in use, it is open studio and study space for students.
  • How to reserve: To request to reserve Studio A or B for an event, please email help@ideate.cmu.edu, including the dates, times, group size, nature of the event, and A/V needs.

IDeATe Studio B

  • Location: First Floor
  • Capacity: 35
  • Features: Rolling tables and chairs for flexible seating, and a ceiling-mounted projector and pull-down projector screen. The wheeled TVs and white boards kept in Studio A can also be moved to Studio B. Studio B is an excellent space for classes, small events, and group meetings. When not in use, Studio B is an open space for student use.
  • How to reserve: To request to reserve Studio A or B for an event, please email help@ideate.cmu.edu, including the dates, times, group size, nature of the event, and A/V needs.

Fine and Rare Book Room

  • Location: Fourth Floor
  • Capacity: Seating capacity at the big table: 8. Classes, with the students standing: 25. Seating, theater style for a presentation: 30.  Standing Cocktail party: 60.
  • Features: The Fine and Rare Book Rooms in the Hunt Library house the university’s collections of fine and rare books, works of art and other artifacts. Climate control and security are special concerns. In all cases, established procedures for security must be observed. 
  • The Rooms may be used for the following purposes. In all cases, established procedures for security must be observed.:
    • by the President or other officers of the university for off-campus guest
    • for exhibit receptions and special lectures
    • for classes using materials kept in the Fine and Rare Book Rooms
    • for meetings by library staff when other rooms are all booked

    • In “Location” field, enter “@ HL Fine and Rare Book Room.” This will populate both the location field and the “To” field.
    • Complete and send meeting as usual.

 

Sorrells Library

The Den

  • Location: Rear of the library
  • Capacity: 45
  • Features: Two very large screens, sound system, dry erase walls.
  • How to reserve:
    • Schedule a new meeting in Outlook
    • In location field, enter “@ Wean Library Sorrells Den.” This will populate both the location field and the “To” field. 
    • Complete and send meeting as usual.

Dell Laptop

  • Located in Admin Closet, Dean's Suite
  • How to reserve:
    • Schedule a new meeting in Outlook
    • In To field, enter “+ UL Laptop for Webinars” 
    • Complete and send meeting as usual.

Speakerphone

  • Located in Admin Closet, Dean's Suite
  • There are two speakerphones available, each with its own listing in Outlook
  • How to reserve:
    • Schedule a new meeting in Outlook
    • In To field, enter “+ UL Speakerphone ” or "+ UL Hunt Polycom speakerphone"
    • Complete and send meeting as usual.
